How does the self parking feature work?

I had this feature on another car. I used it once and it rubbed the tires on the curb. It was during a parallel park. Luckily the wheels didn't get scratches. After that I never tried it again. How does the self parking feature work on the Toyota Crown?

I tried it this morning just to answer your question. It worked flawlessly for me. No rubbing the curb. It parked me about 2 inches from the curb. Very confidence inspiring imho.
