What do these beeps mean?

Every so often, and I can't figure out why, I get a series of beeps when locking the door touching the exterior door handle. It's five or six beeps. The car is off, the key fob is in my pocket. There's nothing in the back seat. Windows are closed. Lights are off... Any ideas?

There's an option where you can turn off the back seat reminder. Have you tried that?
